Workshop and Awards Events

We have a fantastic line up on Thursday 5 April.

It’s school holidays and time for some well earned acknowledgements and a party for the most amazing bunch of kids.  We have a fab line up of activities planned and everyone is welcome to this Pocket Money Market open day.
We open at 10 with the AWARDS in 8 categories for our amazing traders and buskers at 10:30 in the following categories: Product innovation, Salesmanship, Stall presentation and display, Branding and marketing, Online excellence, Accounting excellence, Sustainablility & environmental innovation (incl Waste 2 Wealth), Overall Entrepreneurial Brilliance.

This is followed by a talk by MONEY COACH Marnita Opperman and is is a great opportunity for everyone, parents and friends are welcome.

At lunchtime we have a little party and in the afternoon there will be a music activity and buskers can jam, an Edible Easter activity and an environmental Waste2Wealth workshop.

We are delighted to be joined by #StoryNinja who will entertain the younger folk from 1 to 2pm too.

Each child is asked to bring a snack for the party table if possible and if you are staying all day a lunchbox too.

Please note we are trying to minimise waste so it would be great if you could bring your own cup or mug. We try and avoid disposables at our events. 

We will be finished by 3pm but working parents are welcome to contact me to make arrangements for an early drop off or a late pick up, but this is stricly by prior arrangement please.
These events are free to our young entreprenreneurs and guests are most welcome, a donation to costs would be appreciated if possible.

Other workshop mudules may be booked by arrangement:

1) Costing & Pricing
2) Marketing & Sales – Incl need identification, market research, 4P’s
3) Operational management – incl production, product optimisation, etc
4) Basic financial management – incl record keeping, capital investment, returns & profitability, depreciation
5) Online marketing & sales – get out of the sun, wind and rain!                                             
6) Strategic planning for the longer term.


All suitable for children from about 6 or 7 up to adults. Younger kids are welcome too although they won’t get quite as much out. Workshops are structured around a fun activity to keep it interesting and largely related to actual traders to keep it practical and real.

Venue: Peak Academy, 1st Floor of the Triangle Square Building, 49 First Avenue, Fish Hoek.  Gmap I will have a banner outside. Entrance is through the white gate next to Horton’s Bake shop and up the stairs. There is heaps of parking in the lot across the road. Many thanks to Peak Academy for hosting us!

Workshops are free to traders, please mail linda@livelightly.co.za to book any other modules. Non traders are asked to contribute to costs if possible.
I’d dearly love to find some sponsorship so I can take a bit of time to refine, publish and write more. These cost me about R50 per child or R1000 per event. Any contributions are most welcome.
